Netbook

When I first saw the word 'Netbook' I thought: "An electronic book online. But... wait... that isn't something new. In fact, it is called 'e-book', then... what on earth is a netbook?" I don't know if you all know what it is. May be you do, may be not. But it's a new kind of laptops, also called sub-laptop. I saw these kind of computers earlier, but I didn't stop to really analize them. I just saw a slow procesor, so I didn't care. Just that these are really cheap. But after analizing them, I want one. Hahahaha....

If you are thinking on getting one but you don't know which one to get, watch this video:

Sh. Your netbook was the slower.... sorry.... Ok... Ok... I know is for Windows Vista (wuacala), but if you hates vista why but this netbook?

And. What kind of OS have the Acer Model is Unix or Linux, I don't understand pretty well...

First, the video doesn't show the real booting time. They put a fast play scene, but you can't really apreciate the time it takes to boot.

Second, Windows Vista is very slow.

Third, I hate Windows Vista so I installed Windos XP on mine, and is very decent.

Fourth, I chose the HP Mini because I had my bets on the 2Gb RAM it has, while the Acer One has 1Gb and the Asus EEE Pc has 512Mb.

Fifth, the Acer One with the 8Gb solid state hard disk comes with Linux Limpus Lite distro; the Acer One with the 160Gb magnetic hard disk comes with Windows XP; the Asus EEE Pc comes with Windows XP, but the Asus netbook has an english keybord not latinamerican, so it doesn't have the 'ñ' nor 'acentos'.

Sixth, on either one you can install Linux or Windows. Obviously Windows is slower, but you may install Office 2007, you know, for the .docx and .xlsx files. On the other hand, if the new Office files are not an issue, Ubuntu has a netbook distro called Xubuntu, Linpus Lite is a netbook disto (the one that comes with the Acer One). My dad has the Acer One, and Linpus is very fast, but he decided to change the OS to Windows because of Office 2007 and some korean programs that are only for Windows.

I have Windows XP on my HP Mini, but I'm planning to install Ubuntu or Linpus to, to have two OS.
